What is Niacin?

Niacin, or vitamin B3 (also known as nicotinic acid), is one of eight vitamins that make up the B-complex. It’s found in many foods, including meat, fish, eggs, green vegetables and cereal grains. It’s also synthesized in the body from tryptophan, an amino acid found in many protein-rich foods. As a water-soluble vitamin, niacin is not stored in the body and must be continually replaced through diet.
